Team PRP Adds Metro Auto Recyclers to Network

Valparaiso, IN, November 9, 2012Metro Auto Recyclers, with locations in Valparaiso and Indianapolis, Indiana, is the newest auto parts recycler to join the Team PRP network. With the addition of these two facilities, Team PRPʼs national membership climbs to 129 stores across the nation.

Kent Rothwell, Chair of Team PRPʼs national board, expressed his pleasure in welcoming Metro to the Team PRP organization. “Team PRP has yet again gained another exceptional partner. Metro Auto Recyclers is known to offer the highest level of service to their customers, maintains very high quality standards, and is truly committed to environmental protection,” he commented. “Such principles are in line with those of Team PRP, which makes us proud to partner with them.”

Echoing the sentiments of Rothwell, Brad Rose, president of the Midwest region added, “We feel that Metro is a great fit. We enjoy a good working relationship with all our Team PRP partners, and Metro will bring more value for us as we move forward.”

Metro first opened a scrap recycling facility in 1988 in Blue Island, Illinois. In 1998, owner Steve Dykstra, expanded into the auto recycling business by opening Metro Auto Recyclers in Valparaiso, Indiana, continuing expansion with an additional location in Indianapolis in 2010.

Metro Auto Recyclers expressed pride in the fact that they provide the highest level of service to their customers by better understanding their needs, through courteous interactions and by continually educating themselves. Quality control measures have been put in place that ensure that customers receive only the highest quality parts, and are handled in an environmentally friendly manner.

In 2010, Metro was recognized with the Indiana Clean Yard Gold Status by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. This prestigious award has been given to only seven auto recyclers in Indiana. More recently, in September 2012, Metro became the first auto salvage yard in the country to receive The Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS®) certification.

With these recognitions, Metro Auto Recyclers has displayed its commitment to go beyond what is required by environmental regulations.

“It is a great pleasure to become a member of a group that has high standards and is as committed to selling quality parts as we are,” stated Steve Dykstra, owner of Metro Auto Recyclers. “We are excited to work with other recyclers that have the same high standards and goals as we do. We look forward to being connected to these recyclers as we all strive to be the best companies we can be, and as we continue to serve our communities with quality service and quality parts.”
